BT ArtBox, may - July 15, 2012
"The opportunity to decorate a BT Box in aid of ChildLine, at first defeated me until the penny dropped whilst scanning my library. I spotted an image I had made of Grace Coddington in 1972. After some research using various printing methods, I realised how this could work and the image fitted perfectly.
I planned to paint it either red or black but then in another serendipity moment, I remembered my old mate Hughie Turner, a wonderfully talented specialist painter. After reviewing several possibilities (wood, stone and even linen) we decided on black marble with gold leaf trim. And then with the photographs printed on vinyl, Kiss was born!"
From birth in South Bermondsy, the Box made its first appearence in the window of Harvey Nichols from 31st May - 14th June.
It is now positioned outside Vogue House in Hanover Square, W.1. until 15th July, when it will be taken off to be auctioned at the National Gallery in aid of ChildLine.
A Special Limited Edition of KISS - until July 30th only - has been released with a further 15% of sales going to Childline. See below:

"I was seriously thinking of getting rid of them; they were taking up too much space," Christie told The Telegraph . "I'd never thought that I would need them for anything, or whether anybody would ever be interested. Christie has been proved seriously wrong. The painstaking task of backing up his collection of old negatives has paid off, as his Limited Edition Collection of fashion photographs, whose subjects include Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger, Catherine Deneuve, Marie Helvin and the late Lynn Kohlman, go on display at the Century Club in London's Soho later this month."

"Although Christie's work is incredibly slick and its prevailing focus is upon the glamour models and celebrities of his era, it contains a beguiling otherness that travels far beyond the fashion sphere and poses questions about reality, identity and artifice"

"Some of Christie's shots are as sexy, polished and subtly sinister as Guy Bourdin's; others are sepia-toned and tender, particularly of his wife at the time, US Vogue's creative director Grace Coddington"
